Nash M. Rush

August 21, 1932 — January 30, 2010

Nash McKinzie Rush, age 77, of Asheboro, North Carolina, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, at 5:17 pm, in the Cancer Center at High Point Regional Hospital, High Point, North Carolina surrounded by family and friends every minute for his last few weeks of life. He was cherished by his family and friends. The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, and other times at the home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at New Union United Methodist Church, Asheboro, NC where he was a member, with officiating ministers Rev. George Roberson, Dr. (Rev.) Deborah Starczewski and Rev. Wyatt Hoogkamp. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors to be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Rush; two daughters, Dr. (Rev) Deborah Starczewski and husband, Daniel Starczewski, of Cornelius, North Carolina, Pamela Hoogkamp and husband, Brad Hoogkamp, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Landon Jarrell and wife Stephanie Jarrell, of Mt. Holly, North Carolina, Hunter Hoogkamp and Trapper Hoogkamp, both of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Kira Jarrell and Logan Jarrell, both of Mt. Holly, North Carolina; step-grandchildren, Ashleigh S. Good and husband Dr. Randall Good, of Woodbridge, VA; step-great grandchildren, Brock Good and Fiona Good, both of Woodbridge, Virginia, nieces and nephews, Kim Rush, of Asheboro, Pat Craven and Henry Craven, both of Seagrove, North Carolina. Nash Rush was a native of Randolph County had served in the United States Army and was retired from Randolph Community College. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who raised his family to know God. He leaves behind many friends and loved ones who will miss him very much; but we know we will see him in Heaven again one day soon. The family had the privilege and honor of sitting at his bedside until the very moment of his passing from this life to eternity with God.
