Nancy Nichols

Nancy Ann Roberts Nichols, of Denton, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Smith and Rev. Alan Caesar officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Born August 26, 1951 in Randolph County, Mrs. Nichols was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Roberts. She graduated from Southwestern Randolph High School and retired from Energizer after 30 plus years of service. She was a excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her family and playing with her grandson. Mrs. Nichols was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She was a very simple, selfless and generous person and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Gayle Monroe Nichols; her son, Brandon Gayle Nichols; and sisters, Peggy Roberts Robbins, Cathy Roberts Penninger and Sandy Roberts. Survivors include her daughter, Misty Nichols Mize and husband, Ronald of Denton; grandson, Emery Monroe Mize; and several nieces, including her close nieces, Michelle Robbins Futrell and Lori Ann Robbins. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Randolph County for the care given to Mrs. Nichols.
