Myrtle Carter

Mrs. Myrtle Rae Millikan Carter, 80, of Franklinville, NC, beloved mother, wife, and friend to many, died at home surrounded by family on Friday, November 7, 2014. A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Monday, November 10, 2014, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Carter was born August 26, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Robert Millikan and Sara Craven Millikan. Myrtle retired from Klaussner after 12 years of service. She enjoyed her flowers and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Brenda Hoover. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, who never left her side, H. Wayne Carter; daughter, Elizabeth Williams and husband, Tommy, of Asheboro, NC; son, John Carter and wife, Susan, of King, NC; sisters, Elsie Gray and husband, Burley, of Randleman, NC, Nancy Stoker, of Thomasville, NC; nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Sunday, November 9, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
