Myrtis Needham

Myrtis "Mutt" Needham, 85, of Asheboro, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Cross Road Retirement Community in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Thurman Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Needham was born September 1, 1930, the daughter of the late Edwin L. Williamson and Blanche Maness Dennis. She retired from Asheboro Baby Care and had also worked at Best Bakery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Tom" Needham. Mrs. Needham is survived by her daughter, Beverly Garner of Asheboro; sons, Darrell Needham and wife, Jolina, of Alaska, Jimmy Needham of Lenoir; stepson, W.N. Needham, Jr. of Asheboro; daughter-in-law, Linda Needham; half-sister, Peggy Hough of Matthews; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
