Mr. Morlan Francis Buck, Jr., 67, of 2503 Spero Road, passed away in peace on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at his residence, after a 14 year battle with prostate cancer. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, October 29, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Charles T. Reeder officiating. Burial will follow at Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Alleghany County, PA, Mr. Buck was born February 1, 1943. He was the son of the late Morlan Francis Buck and Constance Duffy Buck. Morlan was devoted to his family, loved sports and was an avid fisherman. He was a good man and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served 21 years in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and the Cuban Missile Crisis, and retired from Lucent Technologies (Western Electric) in April of 2001. Morlan was a patriot and an extraordinary human being. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Mr. Buck is survived by his wife, Jeannette I. Buck, of the home; sons, Morlan F. Buck, III, Scott P. Buck and wife, Tina, Michael A. Buck and wife, Lynn, all of Liberty; grandchildren, Michael Buck, Joshua Buck, Nicholas Nelson Buck, Savannah Sloan, Allison Buck, Megan Buck, Haley Buck; great-grandchildren, Braydon Sloan, Bryson Sloan; brothers, Robert Buck, James Buck, Timothy Buck, all of PA; sisters, Cheryl Hamm, Marlene Warman, both of PA. His pets Gracie and Willow will miss him very much. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
