We are truly heartbroken to share the passing of a man who was everything to us, a husband, a father, the soul of our family. Robert Mitchell "Speedy" Jenkins, 46, of Asheboro, died Saturday, April 26, 2025 at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel.
Speedy was born on May 10, 1979, in Randolph County, NC. He was a 1997 graduate of Eastern Randolph High School. He truly lived his life at 1000 miles an hour, always moving, on the go, giving, and always fixing. There truly wasn't anything he couldn't fix or make himself. If something was broken in the house he made it his mission to repair it. He would even give you the shirt off of his back without thinking twice about it.
He loved music, of any kind, playing a full volume at all times. It filled the home and our lives with energy and memories we all will cherish forever. He found joy in bowling, laughing, in the simple things in life, like his enjoyment of Stitch and dark humor. Nothing was ever too small or big for him to appreciate.
But more than anything, he loved us, his wife and son. We truly were the light of his life. His pride. His reason for everything.
You cannot sum him up with just a few simple words. He was larger than life itself. A force, a protector, a best friend. His energy sure did fill any room he walked into; he filled all of our hearts. He was his own person that let his individuality shine. Even though he may be gone, the love he gave and showed will never leave.
We will miss him every day. But we will honor him by living with the same passion, generosity, and love that he showed us.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dianne Link Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Brooke Sillmon Jenkins of the home, son, Adrian Jenkins and fiancé Sebastian Semple of Albemarle, father, Tommy Jenkins of Ramseur; and niece, Margie Wright.
The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home following the memorial service, and following at AMVETS of Asheboro, 142 W. Academy Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
We love you, forever. This is not a goodbye, but a see you later.
