Minfred "Mickey" Louis Causey, 71, of Asheboro, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019, at High Point Medical Center in High Point. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 16, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Jody Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Shepherd Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Causey was born on March 31, 1948, in Randolph Co., to William "Bill" and Peggy Perdue Causey. Mickey was a 1966 graduate of Farmer High School. In 1969 Mickey was drafted into the U.S. Army where he proudly served in the Vietnam Conflict. After returning from Vietnam, Mickey started his own demolition and grading business which he operated until 2003. Mickey was a world traveler and loved adventure which was driven by his passion for history. He loved to learn, and his broad span of knowledge was invaluable to his family and friends, particularly his son Devan. Devan was the pride of his life and is following closely in his father's footsteps. Mickey is preceded in death by his father, William Lewis Causey and brother, Billy Wayne Causey. Surviving are his son, Devan Causey of Asheboro; mother, Peggy Perdue Causey of the home; sisters, Glenda Causey McDowell and husband Larry of Asheboro, Shannon Causey Davis and husband Steve of Sophia; brother, Ronnie Causey and wife Betty of Asheboro; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., Monday, September 16, and other times at the home.
