Mrs. Millie Kennedy Brown, 88, of Owens Street, Star, NC, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at the Acorn Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Robbins, NC, with Pastor Darren Richardson officiating. Mrs. Brown was born September 7, 1921 in Moore County, the daughter of the late Kin Kennedy and Annie Jane Williams Kennedy. She was retired from Montgomery Hosiery and was of the Christian faith. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin C. Brown. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Waddell and husband, Phillip, of Traveler's Rest, SC; sons, James Brown and wife, Linda, of Robbins, NC, Clyde Brown and wife, Mabel, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; sister, Ailene Freeman, of Albemarle, NC; seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 515, Asheboro, NC 27204.
