Mrs. Mildred Stewart Vaughan, 86, passed away January 31, 2017 at the Brookstone Retirement Center in Lexington. She formerly lived in Sophia for over 30 years, before that 25 years in Asheboro. A memorial service will be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4053 Brookwood Acres, Randleman. Mrs. Vaughan was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dennis Vaughan; her mother Alta Stewart and father Oris Stewart. She is survived by three daughters, Margie Eacho, Gale Mast and Sherry Kitchin; three sisters, Yulita Ollerdisse, Arthaya Finley and Poratha Wilson; four grandchildren, Darren Vaughan, Jennifer Stancil, Stephanie Dunn and Stacy Mroczkowski; seven great-grandchildren; four nieces and five nephews. Mrs. Vaughan loved people and people loved her. Her joy in life was talking to others about Jehovah God, the Bible and the hope we find therein for the future.
