Mildred Pickett

Mildred Ruby Ferree Pickett, 94, of Asheboro, NC, daughter of the late Ernest L. and Bertha L. Ferree, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at North Pointe of Archdale. Graveside services will be conducted 12:30 p.m., Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Brower's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Asheboro, NC, with Rev. David Spaulding officiating. A native of Randolph Co., NC, Mrs. Pickett was born July 26, 1920. Mrs. Pickett was a graduate of Asheboro High School, class of 1937. She was truly a rural homemaker, mother, farm lady and mentor to all. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pickett was preceded in death by her husband, Pearlmon Clarence Pickett, Sr., daughter, Janice Kearns, sisters, Margaret Stoer, Anna Lloyd Grant, and brothers, Boyd Ferree and Joseph Ferree. Survivors include her sons, Pearlmon C. "Buddy" Pickett, Jr., of Conway, SC, R. David Pickett and wife, Ruth, of Thomasville, NC; sisters, Mary Louise Sayland, of Randleman, NC, Carolyn Curton, of Lipan, TX, Silvia Cox, of Randleman, NC; grandchildren, Douglas Kearns and wife, Barbara, and their daughter, Sarah Rae, of Asheboro, NC, Lynette Graves and husband, Chris, and their son, Adam, of Asheboro, NC, Julie Pickett and husband, Dave, of Savoy, Ill.
