Mildred Beane Gibson

Mildred Beane Gibson, born June 15, 1936, passed peacefully at her home in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Friday, November 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Mildred was married to the love of her life, Carl Gibson, for seventy-two years. They shared a devoted and happy marriage.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her grandsons, Jonathan Voncannon and Aaron Gibson; and her parents.

Her family includes her five children and their spouses: Steve and Mary Gibson, Mike and Pam Gibson, Renee and Eddie Voncannon, Mark and Gina Gibson, and Lisa and Dave McWilliams. She was a loving grandmother to fourteen grandchildren and a great-grandmother to eleven.

Caring for children was a cherished part of Mildred’s life and one of her greatest joys. She ran a private daycare in her home for 30 years. he cared for children in her home for over thirty years, nurturing generations of children in the Asheboro and Randolph County community. Her generosity, warmth, and devotion touched many lives.

After a long illness, Mildred went home to be with the Lord. She was a member of Gate City Baptist Church in Greensboro.

The family is deeply grateful to Dee, Rhonda, and Joan for the loving care they gave Mildred, and to her hospice nurse and the hospice staff for their kindness, compassion, and support throughout her illness.

A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at a later date.
