Michael A. Ward

Mr. Michael Alan Ward, 34, of Asheboro, NC, died Sunday, December 16, 2012. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Gunter officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens in Asheboro. A native of Asheboro, NC, Mr. Ward was born May 2, 1978. Michael lived in Asheboro, except for the last two years, when he had resided in Greensboro, NC and Danville, VA. He was a loving father, son and brother who always had a smile on his face. He will be dearly missed. He was an avid Carolina Tarheel fan. Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hortense Hatcher, whom he loved dearly. Mr. Ward is survived by his daughter, Hailey Ward, of Asheboro, NC; sons, Hunter Ward, of Asheboro, NC, Laythan Ward, of the home; mother, Linda Poole Linder, of Asheboro; father and step mother, Monty and Beverly Ward, of Thomasville, NC; sisters, Keisha Ward, Christie Ward, both of Asheboro, NC; step father, Boyd Linder; step sister, Shelly Apple, of Michigan, Lisa Martin, of Asheboro, NC; and fiancée, Ashley Durham, of Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, December 21, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of his mother, 604 Uwharrie Street, Asheboro, NC.
