Michael Lynn Spoon, 68, of Asheboro, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Flag Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Frank Barrett officiating. Michael was born on August 1, 1953 in Chatham County, NC. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. He worked at Ramseur Interlock for 25 years and at Klaussner Furniture for 10 years. Michael was a faithful Tarheel basketball fan, and was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Michael never met a stranger, would always help anyone in need, and he will be missed dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Berta Mae and Harold McDaniel. Michael is survived by his loving wife of almost 44 years, Joy Spoon of the home; daughter, Tiffany Ely and husband Rick of Asheboro; his two grandchildren, Callie and Caroline; sister, Pat Clark and her husband Harold; nieces and nephews, Misty Clark, Bill Clark, Norman "Jr." Brown, Kenneth Brown, Angela Brown, and Maurice Brown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Ridge Funeral Home.
