Mr. Michael Thomas "Peabody" King, 47, of 1048 Lindale Drive, Asheboro, died Friday, November 19, 2010, at Randolph Hospital, Inc. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. King was born June 28, 1963. He was the son of Bill and Joyce Smith King, of Asheboro. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. Mr. King served in the US Army. Mr. King, in addition to his parents, is survived by his brother, Kenneth King and wife, Michelle, of Asheboro; sister, Kristi King, of Asheboro; companion, Norma Jean Passmore, of Asheboro; two daughters; one son; two grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oakhurst Baptist Church, 2225 South Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27205.
