Melanie Anne Hicks

Melanie Anne Hicks, 66, of Asheboro, died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. No services are scheduled at this time. Born in Schenectady, NY on October 19, 1949, Mrs. Hicks was the daughter of the late Niels Christian Olsen and Eleanor Stearns Olsen. She graduated form Mohonasen Senior High in Schenectady, NY and Hudson Valley Community College in New York. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs and watching her favorite television programs. In additon to her parents, Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Olsen. Surviving are her husband, Darrell Hicks, of the home; sons, Gary Michael Miron, Jr, of Oklahoma City, OK, Matthew Miron, of Asheboro; sister, Gail Martino and husband, Ron, of Ballston Lake, NY, brother, Niels Christian "Chris" Olsen, of North Augusta, SC; grandchildren, Veronica Bohanon, of Killeen, TX, Amanda Miron, of Columbus, GA; mother-in-law, Callie Kern, of Asheboro, several nieces and nephews, and beloved dogs, Arielle and Roscoe.
