Maxine Edith Inman Millikan, 90, of Asheboro, died Sunday, October 22, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church, Randleman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born August 27, 1927 in Surry County, Mrs. Millikan was the daughter of the late Dexter and Marie Inman. She had worked at Stedman's and later at King Carl's Restaurant. Mrs. Millikan was a great mother and a loving wonderful person. She enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors and watching the wildlife. Mrs. Millikan took pleasure in playing scratch cards, socializing and family visits. She had a way of bringing a smile to people's faces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Bentley Millikan, who was a World War II Veteran. Survivors include her sons, Billie Millikan and wife, Karen of Morehead City, Howard Millikan and fiancé, Shirley Sanders of Asheboro, and Ricky Millikan of the home; sister-in-law, Mary Inman; brother, Reginald Inman and wife, Linda of Reidsville; grandchildren, Jennifer Keene, Jonathan Millikan, Ricky Lynn Millikan, Jr., Samuel S. Millikan, Bryan Millikan, Megan Goold, Ashley Edwards, Patrick Goold;, great-grandchildren, Sarah Keene, Joey Keene, Thomas Keene, Scott Sanders and Connie Sanders. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the church.
