Mary F. Swaney

Mary Elizabeth Ferguson Swaney, 84, of Denton, died Friday, September 25, 2015 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Summey officiating. Burial will follow at Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Swaney was born February 10, 1931 to the late Lacy and Rosa Ferguson. She retired from Denton Hosiery Mill and attended Friendly Gospel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ray H. Swaney; sister, Ina Ruth; and three brothers, R.C., Jim and Junior Ferguson. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Swaney Hulin and husband, R.C. of Lexington, Lisa Swaney Loflin and husband, Randy of Denton; son, Clinton Ray Swaney and wife, Kathy of Denton; sisters, Dorothy Miller of Randleman, Grace Gunter of Randleman, Pearl McDowell of Asheboro; brother, Leroy Ferguson of Asheboro; grandchildren, Kira Yates and husband, David, Katrina Jordan and husband, Bill, and Christopher Swaney and wife, Emily. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
