Mary Etta Lyons, 80, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, at Salisbury National Cemetery with Mr. Charles Reeder officiating. Born January 15, 1936 in Elizabethton, TN, Mrs. Lyons was the daughter of the late Elmer and Frances Buckles. She loved bluegrass music and spending time with her grandson and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lyons enjoyed attending Copperhead games and getting her hair done at Nita's. She had worked in home care taking care of others, Burlington Industries and B.B. Walker Shoe Company. She was a loving mother to both of her children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Edward Lyons; son, David Anderson; and daughter, Diane Anderson. Mrs. Lyons is survived by her grandson, Toby Anderson; great-grandchildren, Thomas Anderson and Annabelle Anderson; sisters, Martha Macintosh, Sandra Hardin, Elizabeth Samples, Vikki Ward, Freda Knarr, Eleanor Prophett; and brothers, Joe, Rocky, Danny and Allen Buckles. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home.
