Mary Ann Dawkins

Mary Ann Mestas Dawkins, 81, of Liberty, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Randolph Health in Asheboro.

Mary was born on February 23, 1944, in Rockingham, NC. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She loved her dogs, but above all, Mary loved her family.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband James Dawkins, Sr.; her eldest son James Dawkins, Jr.; her mother Mary McLean Laton; her father Vincent Mestas; and her brother Lawrence Laton.

Mary is survived by her middle son, Jeffrey Dawkins; her youngest son, Joseph Dawkins and fiancée Kimberly Ragsdale; her many grandchildren, (Jeffrey’s children) Chase Tucker, Christian and Chelsea Dawkins, (Joseph’s children) Meghan Dawkins, Macey Mayer, Victoria Riley, Cristin Dawkins, Madison Leavelle, Michael, Gavin and Kathryn Dawkins; her brother, Bob and wife Mary Laton; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private memorial in honor of Mary at their own discretion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
