Mrs. Mary Alice Nichols Davis, age 87, of Asheboro, NC, passed away, Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at her residence. She was born November 24, 1934 in Montgomery County, a daughter of the late Colon and Nellie Cornelison Nichols. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Paul Clayton Davis; brother, Jerry Wilford Nichols; sisters, Vivian Nichols, Lillian Nichols, Berlie Nichols, and Amaryllis Camp. Mary is survived by two daughters, Deborah Davis Stickler (Mike) of Asheboro and Paula Davis of Asheboro; granddaughter, Megan Stickler Blackwell (John) of Asheboro; great-grandson, Liam Clayton Blackwell; a brother, Roger Nichols (Valjean) of Star. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will miss her greatly. She was a busy caregiver to all in her family, including her parents, husband, siblings, cousins, children, nieces, nephews and granddaughter. Mary was known for giving, all while working her entire adult life in the hosiery industry in Asheboro. She loved trees, flowers, birds and all animals. She was a generous, strong, determined, knowledgeable woman, who was dedicated as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She volunteered her time to help others learn about God's Kingdom, and enjoyed sharing comfort from the Bible. She led by example, with a firm faith in God's promises. A memorial service will be held via Zoom at a later date. The family would like to give a special thanks to the following for the exceptional care they provided: Dr. Roberto Chao and his wife Isabela Chao, Dr. Christine McCarty, Dr. Greg Grisso, and the caregivers from Hospice of Randolph County.
