Mary Mozelle Craven Swaney, 86, of Asheboro, died Saturday, July 11, 2026, at High Point Medical Center.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, 908 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, with Rev. Lee Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.

Mrs. Swaney was born on November 16, 1939, in Randolph County, the daughter of the late Thomas Willard Craven and Fannie Allen Craven. She was a graduate of Coleridge High School, Class of 1959. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, Winfred Swaney, on July 14, 1960. She took great pride in her family by raising her two sons and making their house a home. Mrs. Swaney also formerly attended Friendship Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swaney was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred "Red Bone" Swaney; son, Mark Eugene Swaney; brothers, Sherman Craven, Ray Craven, Matthew Craven, Floyd Craven, Allen Craven, Bobby Craven; and sister, Wilma Willard.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Swaney and wife Kathy of Asheboro and granddaughter, Bridget Tori Swaney of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m., Thursday, at Ridge Funeral Home prior to the service.
