June 13, 1938 — January 14, 2021

Mary Frances Bunting Baxley, 82, of Asheboro, died Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the home of her daughter. A private funeral service will be conducted at Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ray Luther and Laura Stockwell-Whitt officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Due to Covid-19, the family requests that everyone is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Mary was born on June 13, 1938 in Randolph County to the late Joseph Allen Bunting, Sr. and Nellie Cromer Bunting. She was a wonderful mother and a good loving Christian woman that loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mary enjoyed bus tours with her best friend, Ruth Elliot and singing with the Asheboro Pentecostal Holiness Quartet. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gene Baxley; brothers, Joseph Allen Bunting, J., Richard Bunting; and son-in-law, Walter Lawson. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Lawson of Ramseur, Paula Speight and husband Robert of Trinity; sisters, Barbara Diane Owens, Carolyn Everhart, and Wanda Maness and husband Dwayne, all of Asheboro; grandchild, Laura Stockwell-Whitt and husband Tony of Trinity; great grandchildren, Aveline Whitt, and Cambridge Whitt; special friends, Darla McDonald, June Garner; and special fur baby, "Jack". The family will have a private visitation, Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Dr., Greensboro, NC 27407.
