Marvin Harris, Jr., 87, of Asheboro, died Monday, January 11, 2021, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Huldah Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Lee Meade officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Marvin was born on December 9, 1933, in Catawba Co., to the late Marvin Harris, Sr., and Mattie Canipe Harris. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a great man, husband, father, and grandfather who loved golf and bowling. He was the "King" of telling corny jokes. He always enjoyed being the happy guy who would make you smile. Marvin was a member of Huldah Baptist Church and attended Shadow of the Cross. He is survived by his wife Rosa Lee Harris of the home; daughters, Carole Harris Smith and husband Scott of Asheboro, Diane Harris Trogdon of Asheboro, Lori Brim Chriscoe of Seagrove; sons, Randy Brim and wife Bobbie of Asheboro; Tony Brim and wife Tami of Randleman; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Harris will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home.
