Martha Gertrude Mathews

Mrs. Martha Gertrude Martin Mathews, 80, of Franklinville, NC, passed Friday, December 10, 2010, at Randolph Hospital. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, December 12, 2010, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jon Shook officiating. A native of Bellingham, WA, Mrs. Mathews was born January 8, 1930, Mrs. Mathews was the daughter of the late Percival Ernest Martin and the late Emma Brighton Martin. She was retired from C&P Telephone in Norfolk, VA and a member of Temple Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Earl Mathews and her son, Henry Lee Mathews. Mrs. Mathews is survived by her daughter, Cathy Armstrong and husband, Tony, of the home; sons, Ronald Mathews and wife, Barbara, of Florida, Jesse Mathews, and wife, Karen of Chesapeake, VA; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
