Mark Anthony McDowell, 67, of Denton, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at his home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Randolph Memorial Park, with Pastor Kevin Rollins officiating.
Mark was born on May 7, 1956, in Davidson Co., son of the late Howard McDowell and Winsie Daniels McDowell. Mark was not a man of few words, quite the opposite. He never met a stranger and was truly dedicated to Gold Hill Forest Products. He had compassion for his family and he loved his children, grandchildren, and first great grandchild. He was so proud of them all. He hardly missed a day without asking when he came home, "Mama, have you heard from the children today"? His glass was always half full. Hope heaven has a good ice machine to fill his cup! This isn't goodbye but "I'll see you in heaven"!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Henry McDowell.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shirley McDowell of the home; daughter, Wendy Wright and husband Rob of Trinity; son, Thomas White and wife René of Franklinville; sisters, Diane McDowell, Linda McDowell and husband Steve, Nancy Hicks; grandchildren, Brady White (Savannah), Lauren Wright, Jacob Wright, Kinsley White, Tucker White; step grandchildren, Hunter Crutchfield (Amber), Chandler Crutchfield; and great grandson, Stetson White.
Mark will lie in repose from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Ridge Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Randolph County Animal Shelter, 1370 County Land Rd., Randleman, NC 27317.
