Marizelle Henson Strider

Marizelle Henson Strider, 96, of Asheboro, died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Perry Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born October 9, 1921 in Randolph County, Mrs. Strider was the daughter of the late Grady and Mamie Henson. She retired from General Electric after 30 years of service. Mrs. Strider attended Solid Rock Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and was a loving Mom and Granny. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "J.B." Strider; and brother, James Henson. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Gallimore and significant other, Larry Kearns of the home; sons, Roger Dale Strider, Gary B. Strider and wife, Barbara, all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Shawn Gallimore and wife, Lauren, Bridgette Welton and husband, Paul; and great-grandchildren, Brianna, Ethan, Madison, Nick and Ben. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
