Marie Lewis Varner

Mrs. Ellie Marie Lewis Varner, 68, of Asheboro, NC, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at her home. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, March 31, 2014, at Caraway Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Varner was born October 14, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Malachi Walker Lewis and Ella Mae Nichols Lewis. She was retired from Black & Decker after 30 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Varner was preceded in death by her husband, W. C. Varner. Mrs. Varner is survived by daughter, Wendy Jernigan and husband, Rodney, of the home; son, Dale Varner and wife, Staci, of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren, William Joshua Varner, Jackson Page Morgan, Faith Caitlin Mitchell, Patrick Aaron Mitchell, and great grandchild, William August Varner. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her niece, Sherry Varner, for all of her help during their mother's illness.
