Marie Schwerdthöfer Mueller, 93, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, January 7 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro. Officiating will be Pastor Doug Hefner. A private burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Marie was a native of Steinwenden, Germany, and immigrated with her husband and two young children to Asheboro in 1960. She was employed at Randolph Hospital in Central Supply for 23 years - most of the years, walking to and from work. She also loved working alongside her husband - helping him carry brick and cleaning his tools and equipment after use (which most men don't like doing.) She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting and baking - until her finger and hands became so arthritic she that she was not able to any longer. But her biggest claim to fame was being an immaculate housekeeper - people used to say one could eat off the floors. Marie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand Mueller; son, Peter Mueller; grandsons, Jason Everhart and Thomas Mueller; bother, Otto Schwerdthöfer; sister, Hedwig Amelung and several half-brothers and half-sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Renate Mueller Auman, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Daniel Everhart, of Charlotte, NC, Sheila Mueller Clark, of Randleman, Robby Mueller, of Collinsville, VA; great-grandchildren, Peter Christian Mueller, Faye Clark, Waylon Clark, Aaron Clark, all of Randleman; sisters, Hilde Cheek and husband Marvin, of Asheboro, Anni Becker and husband Karl, of Steinwenden, Germany. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 505 S. Park Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
