Marie Moran

Marie Hoover Moran, 83, of Asheboro, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at West Bend United Methodist Church with Rev. Kari L. Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Moran was born March 3, 1934, the daughter of the late Moody and Vellie Hoover. She was a member of West Bend United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women, of which she had served as President. Mrs. Moran worked at Beltex Corporation and retired from Cross Roads Retirement Center. She later worked as a caregiver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wesley Moran; and niece, Rachel Leach. Mrs. Moran is survived by her daughters, Gail Moran Rabb (Harold) of Asheboro, Diane Moran Fowler (Scott) of Gastonia; son, Steve Moran (Angelia) of Gastonia;, brother, Wiley Hoover (Clara) of Seagrove; grandchildren, Kristina Robinson (Dale), Dana Sanders (Ben), Neil Rabb (Meaghan); great-grandchildren, Abigail, Gage, Coy, Alexis, Vernon, Kayla, Garrett, Kinsley, Chase; and nieces, Rebecca Mills and Rhonda Onken. The family will receive friends from 12:00-12:45 p.m. Wednesday at West Bend United Methodist Church, prior to the service and other times at the home of her daughter, Gail Rabb.
