Marie Hunt Hoover

Lizzie Marie Hunt Hoover, 84, of Asheboro, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020, at her home. Marie was born on September 8, 1935 in Randolph Co., to the late Archie Hunt and Esther Carrecke Hunt. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 65 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she was known for her cooking. She loved to cook for the family and she helped take care of the people in her community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny H. Hoover; sister, Mary Trotter; brothers, Howard Hunt and Ray Hunt. Surviving are her daughters, Dianne Kearns (Lynn) of Asheboro, Glenda Tuggle (Ted) of Asheboro; sons, Bobby Hoover (Vickie) of Asheboro, Ronnie Hoover (Vanda) of Trinity; sisters, Bonnie Keck, Pauline Walker; grandchildren, Derrick Kearns (Amy), Amber Dalton (Robbie), Jackie Pulgarin (Jorge), Tammy Spoon (Randall), Dana Saunder (Bobby), Stephanie Rector (Matt), Chad Hill (Christina), Ryan Hill (Melanie), Brandon Hoover (Carrie), Brent Hoover; great grandchildren, Krista Sheron (Corey), Caleb Dalton, Aly Dalton, "Big" Tyler Hill (Abby), Holden Hill, Hailey Hill, "Little" Tyler Hill, Lucas Hill, Sarah Saunders, Austin Lambert, Bobby Pulgarin (Madeyln). Due to restrictions on group gatherings, a private graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Claudie Harrison, Rev. Ted Tuggle, and Dr. Jody Harrison officiating. Memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 533 S. Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Community Home Care and Hospice, especially her nurse, Denise Batten for taking care of Marie.
