Margaret D. Richardson

Mrs. Margaret Jane Dorsett Richardson, 84, of Randleman, NC, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Randolph Hospital. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, May 23, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bud Rowe officiating. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Richardson was born January 22, 1927. She was the daughter of the late James Franklin Dorsett and Emmer Susannah Richardson Dorsett. She was retired from Commonwealth Hosiery Mill after 43 years. She always enjoyed embroidery and shopping. She was a kind, sweet lady and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. No matter what the circumstances, she would make any sacrifice necessary for her children. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her sister, Anne Belle Dorsett Rankin. Mrs. Richardson is survived by her husband, Emery K. Richardson, of the home; daughters, Jane D. Bridges and husband, Bill, of Asheboro, NC, Judy D. Whitaker and husband, Vernon, of Climax, NC; son, Johnny M. DeSota and wife, Kristie, of Climax, NC; grandchildren, Erin Bridges Forsythe, Matt Bridges, David Bridges, Jessica Whitaker Owens, Doug Whitaker, Erica DeSota, Patrick DeSota; three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends following the service at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Jessica Owens, Regency Drive, Randleman, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Randolph, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204. A special thank you is also given to the nurses and staff of Randolph Hospital, MPS Unit, for their compassionate care.
