Margaret Freeman Randolph Mitchell, of Monroe, formerly of Asheboro, died Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2019 at Morning Star Lutheran Chapel in Matthews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Pleasant Union Community Church Cemetery, Denton, with Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Margaret was born on September 3, 1924, in Guilford Co., daughter to the late June Freeman and Earsley Beulah Hudson. She was retired from Burlington Industries, a member of Pleasant Union Community Church and a former member of the "Randolph Senior Steppers". The delight of her life was teaching her grandchildren about the Lord. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Corum, Mary Ruth Kernodle; brothers, Frank Freeman, and J.C. Freeman. Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn R. Chapman and husband George of Indian Trail; son, Kenneth Nixon and wife Phyllis of Swansboro; grandchildren, Michelle Cardwell, Adam Durham, Wendy Osterhus, Carrie Ulery, Shea Williamson, Stacie Tripp, Jonas Rayle, Cliff Chapman; great grandchildren, Nolen Durham, Hadleigh Williamson, Leighton Williamson, Hudson Durham, Jack Rayle, Jennings Rayle, Samantha Tripp, John Michael Chadwick, Jake Ulery, Jordan Ulery, Kaitlyn Bobak, Thad Cardwell, Monica Edwards, Emily Osterhus; great-great grandchildren, Emma Chadwick, Camden Parker, Montreal Cardwell, Viggo Cardwell, Emmy Edwards and Lila Edwards. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2019. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Union Community Church, 2635, Pleasant Union Road, Denton, NC, 27239.
