Margaret Dorsett

Margaret Elizabeth Smith Dorsett, 81, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Dorsett was born August 18, 1937 in Asheboro, NC to John A. and Myrtle Hooker Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Anderson C. Dorsett, and by one sister and six brothers. Margaret had worked in the Asheboro City Schools cafeterias and retired from the textile industry. She loved animals and nature, was a great cook, and before her health declined, enjoyed working in her yard. Mrs. Dorsett is survived by her daughter, Patty D. Greeson and husband, Malcome, of Chapel Hill, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Saturday, prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home.
