Marcus Charles

Marcus Charles, 86, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Cone Health Green Valley Hospital in Greensboro. A private funeral service will be held for the family with Pastor Lois Johnson officiating. The service will be available for viewing on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, on Ridge Funeral Home's official website. Mr. Charles was born on July 17, 1934, in Pineville, KY, to the late James Charles and Melvina Caudill Charles. He graduated from University of Kentucky and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the IRS and promptly started his own business, "Charles Tax Service", which was actively in business as of this year. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Charles, Ernest Charles, Dean Charles; and sisters, Zella, Maryann, Clara Baker. Marcus is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Charles; his son, Alex Charles; daughters, Donna Cook and husband Travis, Christi Freeman; grandchildren, Hannah, Luke, Chloe, and Abigail Charles, Jessica Cummings, Katherine Kinton, Aaron Davis, Joshua Dennis, Tassie Blake, William Blake, Michaela Blake and Summer Blake; six great grandchildren; and his brother, Mitchell Charles and wife Donna of Pineville, KY.
