Marcelle Callicutt

Frances Marcelle Maness Callicutt, 68, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 16, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Strider officiating. Burial will follow at Callicutt Memorial Church Cemetery. Born December 15, 1949 in Randolph County, Mrs. Callicutt was the daughter of the late Archie B. and Hazel Garner Maness. She worked for the Randolph County School System. Mrs. Callicutt was also an author of two books, "In God's Hands" and "A Taste of Salt". Marcelle was an advocate for people with Cystic Fibrosis. She encouraged others and gave them hope to battle CF by sharing her experiences during discussions at churches and other organizations. Her books helped many people suffering from the disease. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Janet, Annette and Marie Dunn. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Callicutt of the home; son, Jonathan H. Dunn and wife, Stephanie of Coleridge; stepdaughter, Lorraine Callicutt of Asheboro; stepsons, Bobby Callicutt and wife, Jennifer of Gouverneur, NY and Chris Callicutt and wife, Heather of Star; sister, Brenda Leonard of Siler City; and grandchildren, Jase Eli Dunn, Zachary Sutton, Yazzmyn Johnson, Leighani Johnson, Madeline Callicutt, Quinten Callicutt, Brooklyn Callicutt, Kaylah Callicutt. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Ridge Funeral Home.
