Manuel J. Moran

Mr. Manuel Junior Moran, 83, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Friday, June 10, 2011, at Huldah Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Vuncannon, Rev. David Hunt and Rev. Daniel Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.. A native of Stokes County, NC, Mr. Moran was born September 20, 1927. He was the son of the late Willis Reid Moran and Myrtle Mae Slate Moran. He was a member of Huldah Baptist Church and was retired from Randolph County Schools. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moran was preceded in death by his brothers, William Moran, Garfield Moran, Bobby Moran and Wesley Moran. Mr. Moran is survived by his wife, Beulah Moran, of Asheboro; daughters, Judy Moran Hunt, Helen Moran Kirkman and husband, Mark, Shirley Hutchins and husband, Jerry, all of Asheboro, NC; son, Tony Manuel Moran and wife, Pat, of Asheboro, NC; sisters, Geneva Moran Hoover and husband, Lloyd, of Asheboro, NC, Esther Moran LaFarlett and husband, Calvin, Faye Moran Floyd and husband, Roston, all of Wartrace, TN; grandchildren, Brian Hunt and wife, Carla, Stephanie Henderson and husband, Kenneth, Jeffrey Hutchins and wife, Amanda, Tara Kelly and husband, Dwight; step-grandchildren, Lee Hutchins, Lindsey Johnson; great grandchildren, Preston Henderson, Bailey Henderson, Andrew Kelly, Angel Davis, Katlyin Hutchins, Daniel Hutchins, Eli Hutchins, and a great granddaughter due in August. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Brian and Carla Hunt, 5381 Clyde King Road, Asheboro, NC, and Mark and Helen Kirkman, 1958 Tot Hill Farm Road, Asheboro, NC.
