Luther Carter

Mr. William Luther Carter, 90, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, January 28, 2011, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:30 pm Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Reaves officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Chatham County, NC, Mr. Carter was born March 25, 1920. He was the son of the late John Wesley Carter and Sarah Cordie White Carter. Mr. Carter was retired from Acme-McCrary Corporation after 50 years of service and was a member of Balfour Baptist Church. He loved classic cars and photography. Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lela Mae Moody Carter; son, Bill Carter, of Seagrove, NC; grandchild, Kim Carter, of Seagrove, NC; sisters-in-law, Virginia Cole, Edna Moody, both of Asheboro, NC; nephew, Jack Carter, of Gibsonville, NC; and several cousins. The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm Sunday, January 23, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
