Lura Hunt Allred

Mrs. Lura Mae Hunt Allred, 101, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, September 22, 2014, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, September 26, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Dane Waggoner officiating. Burial will follow at Bailey's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Allred was born September 25, 1912. She was the daughter of the late Marcus Hunt and Roadeen Miller Hunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Samuel Allred, and son, James Luther Allred. Mrs. Allred is survived by her daughters, Ruth Luther, Helen Hill, Gladys Swaim and husband, Sam, all of Asheboro, NC; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Luther Allred, of Asheboro, NC; sons, Odell Allred and wife, Linda, Jerry Allred and wife, Rachel, Charles Allred and wife, Vida, Harold Allred and wife, Terrie, all of Asheboro, NC; brother, Gurney Hunt, of Greensboro, NC;; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Luther Allred
