Lucille Garren Workman, 98, of Asheboro, died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at her home. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Community Church Cemetery. Born November 21, 1919 in Randolph County, Mrs. Workman was the daughter of the late George and Janie Garren. She greatly valued time spent with her family. Mrs. Workman loved bring on the "go" whether it was shopping with her girls or riding her jazzy at the Farmer's Market on Tuesdays visiting with her friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ivey Workman; son, Walker Lee Workman; three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her daughters, Jane Hunt, Claire Latham (Leonard), all of Asheboro; sons, Dallas Ivey "Bud" Workman and (Phyllis), Darrell Thomas Workman, all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Pat Law, Michael Hunt (Ann), Carolyn Hunt, Tammy Adams, Jimmy Workman (Charlotte), Travis Latham (Lisa), Kristy Wilson (Steve); great-grandchildren, Angela Combs (Greg), Jonathan Law (Ashley), Shane Hunt, Dustin Hunt, Phyllissa Russell (Matthew), Hannah Adams, Tabitha Adams, Anna Grace Wilson, Krystal Latham, Emily Latham; great-great-grandchildren, Avery Combs, Brady Combs, Maggie Adams, Wesley Adams, Bryan Morton, Ezra Law and Evie Law. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Monday at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204. The family would like to give special recognition and thanks to Mrs. Workman's caregivers, Ashley Wilson and Sharon Farkas.
