Lucille Lambe

Lucille Goins Lambe, 97, of Asheboro, died Monday, May 11, 2020 at Cross Road Retirement Community in Asheboro. A native of Randolph Co., NC, Mrs. Lambe was born March 16, 1923, the daughter of the late William Harvey and Nellie Cox Goins. She was retired from Pinehurst Textiles after more than 40 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, and looking after others. She attended Crestview Wesleyan Church for over 50 years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lambe was preceded in death by her first husband, H.G. Lassiter and her second husband, Bobby Lambe; sister, Maggie G. McDowell; brothers, Arthur Goins and Earl Goins. When she married Bob she took on six children and their families. She loved them all and they loved her. Survivors include her stepdaughters, Carolyn Carlisle of Asheboro, Sharon Pickard and husband Al of Snow Camp, Libby Griffin and husband Bob of Pinnacle; stepsons, Rev. Ray Lambe and wife Anneal of Pilot Mountain, David Lambe and wife Sandra of Asheville, Bill Lambe and wife Cindy of Liberty; sister-in-law, Norma Goins; nine step grandchildren; 18 step great grandchildren; special nieces and nephews, Billy McDowell, Bobby McDowell and wife Terrie, Janet Goins Ward, Craig Goins, Lenny Goins, Danny Goins; Wesley Robinson and wife Sue, Ruth Anne Cook and husband Ronnie; special great nephew, Lee McDowell. Due to restrictions on group gatherings, a private graveside will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Johnson and Rev. David Hobson officiating. The service will be available to watch on Ridge Funeral Home's Facebook Page.
