Lucille Hinson Johnson, 77, of Asheboro, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Randolph Health in Asheboro.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2024, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Tommy Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at North Bend Cemetery, Denton.
Born in Randolph County, NC on November 15, 1946, Lucille was the daughter of the late Carnie Charlie Hinson and Beulah Bescher Hinson. Lucille owned and operated her craft shop, the Needle Nook, on Old Farmer Road and she loved sewing for people. She also cleaned and took care of the Tate Building at UNC-Greensboro. Lucille enjoyed gardening, making crafts, planting flowers and working in the yard. She was a member of Day Spring Baptist Church, where she loved to go worship. Lucille had a special love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her sisters, Glennie Hancock, Teresa Phillips; and her daughter's life partner, Dale Spainhour.
Surviving are her daughter, Renee Hinson Johnson; former husband, Bob Johnson; sisters, Betsy Leach, Evelyn Burrow (Autry), Panzie Smith, Deborah Palmisano (David); brothers, John Hinson (Betty), Harold Hinson (Joyce), Donald Hinson; former sister-in-law, Iris Hinson; grandchildren, Mark Thompson, Bailey Johnson (Samantha); great grandchildren, Lavie Thompson, Brooklyn Skye Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service, at Ridge Funeral Home.
