Lowell Dorsett Hilton

Lowell Dorsett Hilton, 80, of Asheboro, died Saturday, June 1, 2019, at his home. A private memorial service will be held. Born in Stokes County, NC on January 15, 1939, Lowell was the son of Troy Hilton and Thelma Hall Hilton. He graduated from Nathanael Greene High School in Greensboro. He worked at Sears in Greensboro for 32 years. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and small engines, and was known as the neighborhood "shade tree mechanic". Lowell was one on Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Poole Hilton. Surviving are his daughters, Janean Hilton Henley and husband, Ronald of Seagrove, Heather Lynn Hilton and fiancé, Eric Swaney of Asheboro; son, Cameron Lee Hilton of Asheville; and sister, Doris Hilton Fogleman and husband, Joel of Whitsett. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Asheboro.
