Lorene A. Garner

Mrs. Lorene Frances Apple Garner, 85, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Kindred Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Huldah Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne VunCannon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Durham County, NC, Mrs. Garner was born April 17, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Felix Apple and Octavia Roosevelt Harris Apple. She attended Huldah Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her brothers, James Apple, Charles Apple, David Apple; and sisters, Peggy Johnson, Faye Holmes, and Doris Geis. Mrs. Garner is survived by her husband, Herbert Lee Garner, of the home; sons, Michael Lee Garner and wife, Mary L., of Asheboro, NC, Richard Wayne Lloyd, of Chesapeake, VA; sister, Mary A. Fuller, husband Wayne, of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Robert W. Lloyd, Randal Lloyd; and great grandchild, Kimber Lloyd. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
