Lonnie D. Woods

Mr. Lonnie Dale Woods, Sr., 65, of Franklinville, NC, died Monday, December 2, 2013, at his residence. A celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 4, 2013, in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mike Moore and Brother Sunny Jester officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Guilford County, NC, Mr. Woods was born August 13, 1948. He was the son of the late Ernest Hurley Woods and Chellie Magnolia Paschal Woods. Mr. Woods served in the US Marines during Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, preaching the will of God, and witnessing for the Lord. He also loved his family especially his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his grandson, Walter Ernest Woods. Mr. Woods is survived by his wife, Emma Dunn Woods, of the home; son, Lonnie Dale Woods, Jr., of Level Cross, NC; daughter, Pamela Jean Woods Mabe, of Liberty, NC; sisters, Glenda Kay Gregory, and Wanda Suzanne Woods, both of Greensboro, NC; brother; Brady Wayne Woods, of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, William Jacob Woods, Michael Wayne Stevens, Veronica Lynn Woods, Emily Dalena Woods, Arielle Alexis Woods, and Ethan Coty Mabe; special friend, Brad Long; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
