Lois Thompson Davis

Lois Thompson Davis, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 20 at her residence in Franklinville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 22, 2015, at West Asheboro Church of God with Rev. Matthew Gunter and Rev. Gary Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Whites Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Born September 18, 1929, Mrs. Davis was a native of Stanly County, daughter of the late William Paul and Nola Whitley Thompson. She was married on August 9, 1949 to the late Willie Lee "Bill" Davis of Franklinville. She was a charter member of West Asheboro Church of God. Mrs. Davis worked for Hancock Hams Inc., she also worked as a chicken farmer and retired from Rampon Products. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Brenda Kay Davis; granddaughter, April Holly Smith; brothers, Larry, Curtis and Ray Thompson; and sister, Doris Isom. Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Paulette Davis Handy and husband, Lawrence, of Franklinville; sons, Curtis Davis and wife, Kathy, of Asheboro, Rick Davis of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Wayne Thompson of Asheboro;, grandchildren, Kim Davis Lemmons and husband, Jason, of Asheboro, Billie Jo Smith Hudson and husband, J.D. of Asheboro, Lisa Davis and fiancé, William Oates, of Franklinville, Shawn Davis and wife, Crystal of Franklinville, Nathan Davis serving in the US Marine Corps, Shanna Davis of Seagrove; and step granddaughter, Michele Beard and husband, Erick of Randleman. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Faith and Gage Lemmons, Jesse and Jake Fesmire, Megan, Madison and Mallory Ritter, Austin, Skylar and Ashton Davis and Tyler Foust;, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Lawrence and Paulette Handy at 3534 Walker Store Rd., Franklinville, NC. The family wants to thank the nurses and staff at Crossroads Assisted Living and Hospice of Randolph for their care and support. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
