Lois Emma Bean Ayers, 93, of Asheboro, died Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Randolph Health in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Born November 29, 1923 in Randolph County, Mrs. Ayers was the daughter of the late Jesse and Della Richardson Bean. She graduated from Seagrove High School and attended Asheboro Commercial College. She worked as a secretary for J.D. Ross and was a homemaker. Mrs. Ayers attended Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ayers; sister, Lila Payne; and two brothers, Lewis and Lindbergh Bean. Survivors include her daughters Bernice Laughlin and husband,James and Malinda Jennings and husband, Timothy, all of Asheboro; sons, Delbert Ayers of the home, Charles Ayers and wife, Monette of Star; sister-in-law, Glacie Bean of Asheboro; grandchildren, Nathan Laughlin (Sarah), Ashley Laughlin, Jesse Caldwell (Melissa), Zachary Jennings, Lucas Jennings, Aaron Ayers and Amanda Ayers;great-grandchildren, Eleanor Laughlin, Damian Jennings, Jessica Caldwell, Jennifer Caldwell, Vanessa Caldwell; and special niece, Cynthia Cagle. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Saturday at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Bernice and James Laughlin. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
