Lloyd Leonard Dawkins

Lloyd Leonard Dawkins, Sr., 83, of Asheboro, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Junior Dawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born in Orange Co. NC, on February 13, 1936, Mr. Dawkins was the son of the late Calvin Scott Dawkins and Lillie Ida Green Dawkins. He was the last of six children. Lloyd had worked for Hammond's Exxon for most of his life, and loved turkey shoots. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ellen Dawkins. Surviving are his daughters, Dianna Dawkins Robbins of Asheboro, Tresa Dawkins of Asheboro; sons, Lloyd Dawkins, Jr. and wife Wanda of Randleman, Calvin Wade Dawkins of Asheboro; grandchildren, Michael Robbins and wife Kelly, Karen McSwain and husband Richard, Jeremy Dawkins and wife Amanda, Brittney Montes and husband Gabe, Bradley Dawkins; nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204
