Lindbergh Bean

Mr. Lindbergh Bean, 85, of Asheboro, NC, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at his residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Copple officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Bean was born May 18, 1926. He was the son of the late Jesse H. Bean and Della Richardson Bean. Mr. Bean was retired from Acme-McCrary Corp. and he attended Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He enjoyed bluegrass and gospel music. Mr. Bean served in the US Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bean was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Bean; mother-in-law, Mae King; and brother-in-law, Reggie King. Mr. Bean is survived by his wife, Glacie King Bean, of the home; sisters, Lois B. Ayers, Lila B. Payne, both of Asheboro; sisters-in-law, Shirley Gillispie, of Seagrove, Pauline Smith and husband, Archie, of Star, Bertie Brewer and husband, Larry, of Asheboro; brother-in-law, Morris King and wife, Rhonda, of Asheboro; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
