Linda Faye Holmes, 62, of Asheboro, died Monday, October 8, 2018 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Covenant Christian Church, Asheboro, with Rev. Lois Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens. There will be a repass following the burial at Mitchell United Methodist Church. Born on July 20, 1956, in Farmville, NC, Linda was the daughter of the late Viston A. Holmes and Glossie Renee Edwards Holmes. She graduated from Wayne Community College. She traveled with Kings Department Store and later worked at Jockey and Energizer. Linda loved her family and everybody and also treated them the same. Surviving are her daughters, Heather Chambers and fiancee, LaTasha Yarborough, of Asheboro, Quianna Ukonu and husband, Winner, of Asheboro; sisters, Deborah Briggs and husband, Dennis, of Winterville, Phyllis Lewis, of Burlington; brother, Marshall Holmes, of Stantonsburg; a special sister-in-law, Eva Greene and husband, Jesse, of Randleman, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special adopted grand kids. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, and other times at the home.
