Mrs. Lillian Mae Thompson Gordon, 87, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, August 27, 2012, at her residence. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Oaklawn Cemetery, officiated by Dr. Richard Crider. A native of Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Gordon was born May 18, 1925. She was the daughter of the late James Irl Thompson and Fronie Anne Fesperman. She graduated from Lexington High School and she retired from Randolph Electric Membership Corp. after 40 years of service. Mrs. Gordon was a member of Greystone Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. Mrs. Gordon is survived by her husband, Erwin Gordon, of the home; sisters, Selma Kivett, of Ramseur, NC, Opal Auman, of Asheboro, NC; brother, J. I. Thompson and wife, Alice, of Rockwell, NC; nieces, Pam Smith, Natasha Thompson, Shauna Goodman; nephew, Paul Wesley Kivett; and great nieces, Megan Smith and Madison Smith.
